Belém neighbourhood is historically bound to the Portuguese discoveries age. Vasco da Gama, the portuguese who set sail to discover the maritime trade route to India, departures from here. This crucial moment in our history led to the construction of marvelous monuments and attractions at Belém,  the most famous, Jerónimos Monastery.

Belém is also the location of the oldest and most famous pastry shop in the city, serving a delicacy called “Pasteis de Belém”. It is aged from 1837 and it sells this indescribable pastries that, garnished with cinnamon, are a taste of heaven.
