Starting from Praça do Comércio we begin exploring Lisbon ‘s downtown. Moving up to Chiado – historically the theater district. Home to an amazing atmosphere and a wide range of arquitectonic highlights. Today Chiado is a famous shopping area, home to Lisbon vanity and beauty.

” A Brasileira ”, a historical coffeeshop – known for being the main cultural hub of the 20th century – when it became a famous meeting point for intellectual and political.  A portuguese great poet – Fernando Pessoa  – was a regular and is honoured by a statue right by the door.

Right next to it, lies Bairro Alto, the bohemian district. 

Classified as a historical neighbourhood of Lisbon – therefore the one of the most famous – it possesses the greatest concentration of bars and restaurants in town.

Further up, São Pedro de Alcantâra Viewpoint is the highlight of this route and therefore we do stop. We invite you to wonder around – take pictures of his stunning wide view – overlooking the castle and so much more. Engage with your  friendly guide and ask all the questions. Believe me, you will have many.

The route passes on Principe Real and it’s sumptuous palaces and garden, the bourgeois neighbourhood of Lisbon at its best.
